GKAD ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of members, supporters, staff/volunteers, and visitors. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Handling laws.

Information that is personal to you and can be used to identify you.

General Data Protection Act. The act of appropriately storing and/or using your personal information and data on records that are confidential to you under the regulations set out by the UK government.

Data Processing Officer. A person that deals with the processing of all data and making sure it is kept safe while following UK laws on handling data. As well as making sure all staff/volunteers are up to date on training with handling data.

• medical or disability-related information where relevant to be given a placement in our training programs and/or tests or for your own safety.
• Information related to your dog such as veterinary clearance, name, date of birth ect

The third-party system we use for payments and donations will take your name, email and part of your card details for records that you paid

Whether through letters or electronic communication such as messages or emails. We store personal data such as:

• email address
• phone number
• home address
• Social Media details (username and account handles)

so we can contact you when needed.

If you are changing to a different organisation, we will pass on any information that is required from us such as the personal information listed above if it is requested by you.

We may use your information for other purposes such as media promotion weather that's part of a discount, tagging or shoutout for this we will use your social media handle.

Nearly all employers and educational establishments will ask for a risk assessment to be done on your assistance dog. You yourself or your employer/educational person can use us to do your risk assessment or share your Public Access Test results.

You have the right to delete your data from our website at any time or request assistance in deleting your information. 

Our services may allow you to delete certain parts of your personal information within our service. if you wish to amend or change your personal information, you may do so at any given time to amend or change information at your request.

Please note that we may need to retain certain parts of your information for legal purposes and obligations that require us to do so.

While your data is incredibly important to us, NO method of transmission of information and data is going to be 100% secure. It's not remotely possible to say that it will be secure. Whether that's though the internet or on an electronic device.

Although that seems worrying to hear, we will do our absolute best to ensure that it never happens, in the chance it dose become unsafe we will act immediately with necessary measures, such as reporting it to ICO, to prevent it from getting mishandled.

We don't address anyone under the age of 16 without parental consent.

We also don't knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16 that has not been filled in by the parent or legal guardian. If the person iunder the age of 16 and you suspect that they provided your information without consent you need to contact us immediately when you find out.

Any information collected without consent will be wiped immediately from our database and system until you contact us to give consent.
